B sqd 8CH Petawawa 1986-88 am looking for old friends

Just came across this thread and thought I would post a hello.  A lot of those names bring back memories.  I was 8CH/RCD from 82 to 89 and was driver of 21B for awhile (remember the convertable Cougar?  It was on my docs)  Most infamous role was working the Regimental kit shop in F-16

    armoured 1975-1986 and beyound

Couple I know about.  I saw Joe Zinck in the late 90's when he was posted as RSS to 1st Hussars in London.  Butch Crosby was RSM of the Elgin Regiment when it still existed so is probably in the St Thomas area.  Also saw Jim McNeil last year.  He is in London working for General Dynamics.

Alleged US raid on Iranian Consulate

To raid a consulate, whether you consider it to be one or not, is a slippery slope to go down.  What is to stop other countries from declaring that a US consulate does not have "diplomatic status" or to say that the CIA and NSA personnel posted to consulates are supporting factions a particular...

'Little Mosque on the Prairie' = big laughs? (CNN News)

I would agree with you dynaglide if the writer had actually reviewed the comedy.  The article though spends more time condemning the CBC, the fact that the show was produced and what it doesn't contain, than the actual content of the show. Comedy, by its very nature, is difficult.  What one...

Support Our Troops - Stealing Magnets

An interesting twist to someone stealing one of the ribbons I had tied on my tree, it has reapeared on a lamp post down the street.  If people are going to steal my ribbons and spread them around town then I have no problem with it.

(USAF) Sergeant In Trouble For Playboy Spread

How many times have we seen police officers posing half naked for calenders?  Not to mention the various spreads in Playboy, and other magazines, that highlight specific groups including police.

'Little Mosque on the Prairie' = big laughs? (CNN News)

I read that review expecting to see writing that reflected the diverse nature of comedy and instead read a rant by someone who obviously had an axe to grind.  From the very first sentence. where he infers that anyone who thought this show was a good idea is not sane, he shows that he was not...

Mmmm, especially when you warm up the pre-cooked bacon in them. Did I mention what SSF stands for?

(USAF) Sergeant In Trouble For Playboy Spread

I have to agree.  It is a double standard to argue that she can't pose but at the same time say it is ok for someone in uniform to be seen carrying that same magazine.  Public perception?  What public?  It also reminds me of the argument from http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/52077.0.html...

Someone stole one of the yellow ribbons I had around my tree.  Luckily I put a nail into the other one I have because it is still there although they untied it.

All You Want To Know About Bagpipes[ and then some]- Merged

Know that feeling, I haven't touched the pipes since I left Pet in 89.  I couldn't afford my own pipes and just don't have the time to properly practice.

All You Want To Know About Bagpipes[ and then some]- Merged

How things have changed.  When I was part of the SSF P&D we had trouble getting members let alone dancers.  They were always willing to teach new people so if you want to learn, that is good place to start and they used to provide the equipment (don't know if they still do) Anyone know who the...
