Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

And it in fact was heavily mechanized with Centurions, M113s, and brand new M109s. When I was going through the RCSA from 69-70, 3 CG had the primary role of being the reinforcement/replacement organization for 4 CMBG which itself was changing dramatically - moving bases and down-sizing. It was...

    Army Reserve Restructuring

I tend to agree albeit to a large extent armouries will need to be configurable to be able to convert to things we haven't even thought of today. But. We're working out of many buildings over 100 years old now. The folks that built those built them to the best design for the army we have and...

    Judges ... WTF....

1996 would have been an appointment by the Conservative Mike Harris government that took over from Rae's NDP in June of 1995. 🍻

    Future Armour

I think it is just titled "New Main Battle Tank" (NMBT) at this point. I note that it hovers around the 70 ton range so not one of the new lighter slimmer models. 🍻

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Watched the 60 minutes episode about rescuing the two pilots in Iran . . . not nearly half as interesting as the one that followed about what it takes to get a pardon from this administration. 🍻

I'd like to have 31 and 32 CBGs equipped as heavy brigades in time for the second battle of Stoney Creek.

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Wow. That's a question that could take a book to answer. There are very many different ways of structuring CSS in a field force but let's bring it to the two key issues: 1. fighting elements - companies and battalions exist well forward in austere areas where the more agile a force is, and...

I haven't seen or heard anything beyond the speculation here and on Battle Order. I can see 4 PLDG as it was the only armoured regiment in 1 Inf Div in WW2 as the div recce regiment. But that's just me rationalizing. 🍻

Good looking Org chart for 1 Div made by a Facebook contributor based on the Battle Order video. 🍻

But how do you get the message that this is overdue to the MND if it has to be filtered through the CDS and DM - oh wait - an honourary lieutenant-colonel!!!

You are quite correct. It is not just a RegF or ResF issue. It is a priorities issue. It is where the leadership has to or chooses to spend the billions of dollars allocated to it. No one here is saying that the job is an easy one. But seeing where the money goes makes it clear where the...

    Lawyers Allegedly Behaving Badly

Looks like poor reporting. AFAIK, there is no York Region Law Society. There is a York Region Law Association and a Law Society of Ontario (formerly known as the Upper Canada Law Society). There is a world of a difference between a Law Society responsible for the governance of the profession in...

I agree. Now. My only thought on that is it should have been a year ago. I'm not concerned about the PRes input. Quite frankly planning is a full-time job that needs the A-team which to me means the senior RegF leadership trained and experienced in the process. As much as I'm an advocate of the...

Respectfully, I don't think he's missing the point about Defence of Canada at all. When you sit on the outside looking in, it's not hard to see where the army is applying its priorities by where it allocates its resources. Defence of Canada is becoming, as it should, a major thing for the RCN...

Many of them also had food service courts which creates the possibility of turning the building into one that could have a self-contained residential component for summer courses etc. including the training of cooks etc. Preplanning mobilization needs some out-of-the-box thinking in mass...

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Agreed. There is one point that I'm tracking as a step forward from Aimpoint 1 from last April which is the UAS Regt in 1 CAB. Aimpoint is very vague on this and calls it a "Deep Target Acquisition unit" which is simply "conjectural" and joint with the air force. It notionally has two SUAS...
