It must depend on the unit/area,  because I know nothing of this and the reserve recruiter I've been dealing with for a year has made no mention of it. Again, I think things are a little weird in Toronto, with the recruiting pretty centralised.

I suggest you contact a reserve recruiter for the unit you are trying to join (in some cases, like in Toronto, the recruiting for all reserve units is centralised to a couple recruiters). In my case, he's the one who gave me the paper application (which is necessary as well as the online...
