I'm in a similar situation, there's a BMQ in January but I'll have to really luck out to make it in time, plus my recruiter warned me that my year living outside of Canada will slow down the process. On the bright side, at least that means more time to prepare and get in tip-top shape.

Couldn't agree more. Some people think I'm nuts for trying to join the army (even the PR) because I can't gain much from it. Because apparently personal gain is the only reason to do something.
