Are you sure about that, trentonmilwife? When I got my call last week I was told that if I pass Aircrew then I'd be shipped off to BOTQ at St Jean on May 4th to start the course on the 5th. Isn't BOTQ the new name/another name for IAP+BOTP ? Or are they different? I am in ROTP (if I pass aircrew...

On the plus side, if/when you leave the service in the end you'll have your PPL (unless my research proves me wrong and you earn a PPL in the CF), a nice bonus.

Well I'm in my third year, so I guess either: a) the term I'm currently in, Jan-April counts (I did my interview and all that back in November), b) the summer in which I'm doing BOTQ counts, c) for some reason the actual 8 months of school is all that counts and it's ok with them.

If it cheers you up ballz, I heard from a current pilot today that a guy who crashed the CAPSS 7 times passed, and a guy who didn't crash once failed (in his group). It's about your learning curve not how well you fly.

I just got conditional ROTP from CFRC Kitchener. dwalter, this is important for you: even though during the application process I was told I'd get a specific occupation, the CFRC has just found out too that you instead get accepted to a general category. I hope everyone else gets a call soon :)

The general thing only applies to high school apps to ROTP, dwalter. I'm applying for ROTP as well, but I'm in 3rd year at a civvie u so I get to pick my occupations. If I were applying in high school, I'd only be slotted for air, land, or sea; nothing specific.

Well, I'm applying in my 3rd year for them to subsidize my 4th, and having no problems with it. As long as you have a year left you're good to go.

Does anyone know how the ROTP acceptances work for aircrew applicants? I have aircrew booked for the end of February so of course I can't get accepted unless I pass that.... so would I receive a conditional offer or something?
