  Selection for operators is based on individual personal qualities, not the persons trade. That being said, if you are used to an army environment, it might not be as much of a culture shock as compared to say a cook whose worked in Shearwater for the last 6 years.....

  I just saw this, and it surprised me that old and crusties like that are still around.  My contractor was telling me yesterday that he got out of the navy after 10 years and being a P2 because of what the navy was turning into...... women on ships!! OMG!
