But is that a purpose, or are those tasks? Tasks that were thrown to it because it existed and we were invested if finding something for it to do? Tasks that will bifurcate its areas of interest & of influence on the battlefield. Split between combat support inclusive of forward areas, and land...

Do we need Cadets? Should they be military/uniformed? (split from Trump administration 2024-2028)

I am not looking for a philosophical discussion that exists in a vacuum away from reality. There may be hundreds of alternative possible systems, but we have an existing system - a start point. The effort to change from where we are now to some alternate system is relevant to evaluating that...

But you also cannot discuss a system that is currently defined by the NDA without discussing how the NDA shapes that system. The NDA can be amended, but a proponent for an amendment would need to argue why this is worth consuming legislative time and effort. It fits somewhere between Bands and...

Current expectation is that you must re-pass the test before the anniversary of your last successful test. Gone are the days when you could take a test on 01 April, and then 729 days later take a test on 31 Mar.

I welcome you (the collective proponents of de-militarizing the CIC) to prove me wrong. Stop talking about rank, uniform, and commissioning scrolls as if they were BFORs, and present your case and present your case exclusively in physical job requirements (and you personally are getting there)...

Do we need Cadets? Should they be military/uniformed? (split from Trump administration 2024-2028)

Why? A uniform & a commission were not sufficient BFOR for the Reg F, and that is not going to be a sufficient threshold for CIC. A BFOR for a fitness threshold must be tied to a physical requirement of the job. Doggedly demanding a fitness test without being able to articulate a legitimate...

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

When creating or reshaping units & formations the first step, before even writing doctrine to describe the organization, is to define why the organization will exist - what is its purpose. https://mwi.westpoint.edu/function-before-structure-why-do-brigades-exist/ Have we done that with all the...

Thank you for demonstrating that you don’t understand the meaning of BFOR. I explained it up thread. You can go back and educate yourself. There is a legal requirement that leads to CIC being CAF officers (that was also provided earlier). It doesn’t matter that you want them to be something...
