TKMS Type 212CD (Victoria class replacement megathread)

Well then the obvious solution would be to get all 12 x KS III's... ...and all 12 x Type 212CD's. See? Now everyone is happy and our boots are filled with industrial offsets! Now our next purchase will have to be a bunch of these to man crew the subs!

    Canada's strategic airlift capability megathread (CC177, CC130J, A400M?)

FTFY. You can never have enough airlift, especially when geography dictates that every operation is an expeditionary operation.

TKMS Type 212CD (Victoria class replacement megathread)

Well...if you went with a split fleet you should at least get 8 and 8. That way you could have a quiet sub-hunter and a missile boat active on each coast at all times. I wonder if you could talk Hanwha and TKMS into having a shared maintenance facility on each coast? If they teamed up they...

    Canada's tanks

Understood. However, that image is of an M1A1 without and APS. Typically the only drones using HEAT rounds are larger loitering munitions other than things like quad-copters that are dropping RPG rounds from above. If you have a combined 30mm RWS/APS/cope cage system the 30mm can handle...

    Canada's tanks

And not only new tank designs...existing tanks are being modified to protect against the drone threat... https://defence-blog.com/ukrainian-crews-are-rebuilding-abrams-tank-to-fight-todays-war/ The jury-rigged cope cages that first appeared as field expedient solutions are starting to be...

Leonardo and Rheinmetall are teaming up to replace Italy's Ariete tanks. https://defence-blog.com/italy-and-germany-set-to-showcase-their-new-tank-at-eurosatory/ Improved protective measures are topping the feature list just like they are with all the other new tank versions being...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Well, you can strike FCAS off the list of potential F-35 replacements in our next, next future fighter buy... https://defence-blog.com/europes-110-billion-fighter-jet-project-is-officially-dead/

Informing the Army’s Future Structure - CAMO Discussion

Frankly I think the RCAC has drunk the US Army's "Maneouvre Warfare" Kool-aid rather than thinking about what kind of war we expect to have to fight. If the main threat we are expecting to face is a Russian attack on NATO then I think this Heavy/Medium/Light Cavalry concept is fundamentally...

TKMS Type 212CD (Victoria class replacement megathread)

At 120m that would be one hell of a large UUV. Boeing's Orca XLUUV is 26m and the RN's XV Excalibur is only 12m. China had a rumoured one in the 40-42m size but this would be 3 x the size of even that.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

From the article This to me is key to any split fleet decision...keeping the F-35 buy to at least the original requirement of 65. The Gripen buy needs to be at least that many as well, so the rumour of 72 and 72 would work. IF that is the case then hopefully we'd start working with Saab...

Here's a report on a new, unknown Chinese submarine type being launched: https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2026/06/new-mystery-submarine-signals-chinas-rapid-undersea-expansion/ I put it in this thread because of this interesting section: That reminded my of the research in the 80's at RMC...

Canada seeks to buy Long Range Precision Rockets (probably US MLRS or HIMARS)

We need GMLRS, ATACMS and PrSM...and all three in much, much greater quantities that we've ordered...and more launchers. As both Ukraine and Iran have shown a peer or near-peer war will be one of attrition. In order to be a serious deterrent and a serious threat if deterrence doesn't work then...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

If we are actually going down the split fleet route I'd rather get at least the original requirement of 65 x F-35's (preferably the full 88) and instead of Gripens have Saab build a factory for their supersonic loyal wingman platform (buy 65 or 88 for our own use and more for the export market)...
