The problem with just logging is that if you don't reforest then you accelerate the flooding issues.
Bare slopes = bad things happening to soil. It's something we don't always think of but it's what I was taught was a key factor in the state of Haiti. Logging high value trees for cash for the...
The question on interface is a good one though and I've had this discussion with crews and resources on the line a bunch of times...
We have a dozer guard (~5m) ...but the trees are 30m tall around us
We can build a super guard (many dozer guard widths) but it's windy...
We'll build a really...

Not just Onaway. Significant rains in short periods of time are always an issue.
Positive news is that not many fires to date.

Can't fix the stupid factor but it sounds...based upon the article alone...that lessons were learned and some breaks done since 2023.
Saw the 2023 fire taking off...for beer and off line...

Definitely have the inter-library loan option. And I'm actually quite happy with the local library as it's heavily geared towards children and gets a ton of use. But history and reference books unfortunately seem to be getting downsized everywhere due to availability of internet searches...
I wish...my small town has less than 30. But that's actually about triple what any other section has and some are newer books so it's not all a lost cause.
The issue as I understand it is two fold - 1) accept the transfer of position which comes with reduced pay and benefits as their role/pay/classification doesn't exist or 2) accept a termination that will not allow them to work in the province for a year.

Definitely no economist...but a 17,000 increase in hospitality jobs which I frankly view as more entry level McJobs and a drop in the youth unemployment rate have to be both good things. Construction is up but not sure if that seasonal work. No mention of government jobs skewing numbers...
Been thinking about this alot recently...due to dealing with death of one relative who only had OAS and a second who can not afford rent based upon a very limited disability check. Add in medical conditions and the need to relocate them provinces due to lack of supports it's been chaotic at...
I would not put that on the NDP...the chart below is West Texas Intermediate oil prices in USD. In fact I do give them credit for trying to balance out the dependence on oil prices by changing tax rates and other factors.
But trying to do it all during a crash is a double whammy...and then...
I'd say no...but for many the thought of anyone but the party they know (despite changing many times under the same color of coat) is akin to devil worship.
I will give them credit...they are the only party in my voting lifespan that has offered a complete set of candidates for an election...
