Well the MND just finished up a visit to Japan, so may be a little stop on the way home. And we all know how the gov't likes making important announcements on Friday afternoons.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a date selected for the CPSP selection announcement. Makes you wonder of a possible delay.

    Political impacts of Ukraine war

TWZ has an absolutely amazing collection of videos showing the latest Ukrainian offensive against oil refineries around Moscow. The videos do show some cases where Russian AD systems take out Ukrainian drones (and in one case an Ukrainian UAV hits a construction tower), but for the most part the...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

South Korea is developing the KF-21 in three stages: Stage 1: Certifying the aircraft for air-to-air combat which is where SK is at right now. The first aircraft has already been delivered and a total of 40 aircraft are planned for deliveries starting later this year. Stage 2: Certification of...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

I'm also a KF-21 fan and think it would be a much better deal then the Gripen, but, alas it appears nothing will happen. The question came up in one of Noah's Q & A substacks back in May and this is his answer: And unfortunately has Canada decided to go with the M-346 instead of the...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

With all this talk about the F-35 vs Gripen E/F I thought I would add this comparison chart comparing the F-35 vs Gripen C/D. The Gripen E/F has newer engines with 25% more thrust, a new AESA radar, newer avionics and an IRST system...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Not as capable as the Gripen E/F which has an AESA radar and IRST system. You could still use the M-346FA variant in CAS, COIN, Homeland defence roles, etc. Attached is a brochure listing the M-346FA capabilities.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

No mods necessary, it already has all the capabilities of a light strike fighter. Don't just buy 22, buy about 70 or so. You can deploy them in any role where it wouldn't be practical to deploy Fat Annie F-35s. 🍻

    A-10 Warthog

Congress may have thrown the A-10 a lifeline, the USAF is not having any of it. For some reason the USAF has a real hate-on for the A-10. Latest from TWZ: https://www.twz.com/air/a-disciplined-case-for-the-a-10-the-air-force-wont-make
