Paying at Esso with my PC Optimum Mastercard gets me $0.10/L in points, so I can afford my $10 bags of random frozen stuff addiction... I recommend trying the Chicken Donuts, they are "interesting".

    Army Reserve Restructuring

Infrastructure for the entire CAF is desperately in need of updating to meet the needs of the CAF, the army reserve needs to get in line with everyone else, and hope that a politically important riding is close enough for money to flow.

CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

There is a somewhat concerning number of unhinged people on the internet calling for/or at least hopeful for a US annexation, to fix the "woke" in Canada. Particularly if you wander into the cesspit of CGN's more political sub-forums... Too many people terminally online in their weirdo...

I'd hope that even the current administration learned the lessons of the last 40 years well enough to know that's a bad idea.

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft (Saab Globaleye)

I think a valid question is; How much of the competition was genuine, and how much was the RCAF doing what all elements do, and rigging the criteria? Its pretty easy to do, just toss in a few "critical" elements you know only one binder has... E.g. We must absolutely have a triple transducer...

Do we need Cadets? Should they be military/uniformed? (split from Trump administration 2024-2028)

That likely would have pushed me out of cadets, and out of interest in the CAF. I was raised in rural PEI, by rather flexible, but religious parents. If I spent my summer at 16 in the drunken shenninagins of a BMQ, My parents would have withdrawn consent, and I likely would have been repulsed...

My grandfather twice "escaped" a nursing home as his dementia got worse. One time they found him in a barn "hiding from the Germans"... Weirdly, he always recognized my brother and I when we visited, but didn't even know his own children. Dementia is a brutal disease both for the family, and...

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

EU membership would be unpalatable to Canadian voters, so some new special status makes the most sense to deepen ties. Canadians don't want Brussels ordering them around any more than they want Washington to.

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft (Saab Globaleye)

If we want the public to support the CAF, the CAF needs to get on-board with public sentiment. Arguing that the F-35 is better isn't going to convince anyone that we should continue to send most of defence dollars to America. Continuing to buy American would be a handy way to see defence...

    Meteorological Technician

In 2012 we changed from Air Ops to Int Branch, and became purple. In Jan/Feb 2022 those of us who joined back when all Met Techs wore air DEU, were allowed to change to RCN or CA DEU. Only a few of us changed, because it has strong potential to mess with succession management. I took the...

CFSMET has been in Winnipeg since the old school in Trenton burned down back in 1974. It's a small school, with only two classrooms and two computer labs, so it's in the bottom floor of Barker College (building 84).
