    Best dressed element.

that made me laugh alittle... As for the rest, I agree that army mess dress is by far the best and AF the worst (sorry guys) but I'm alittle more inclinded to say that Army and Navy DEU's are about equal in looks. On a side note, is it known when the new NCD's are going to be available for...

I would have to agree with you on that

    Best dressed element.

I agree with that, as well it would not look as bad as cadpat on ncd's As far as I think you are the first person I've ever heard say that....you have seen their choice of the colour blue right?

    Best dressed element.

Sorry, I guess that was better aimed at AF perhaps with crews attached to ships with Helicopters.  As the navy definitely does not wear cadpat slip-ons on NCD's, it's left to the AF and the few Army (purple trade) pers on ship that would be wearing cadpat on ncd's... As far as CADPAT vs NCD...

Are Submarines a required capability in a modern Navy??

Obviously not as you have more experience with that than I do.  However, I believe that they still do not come close to having the same capabilities as subs do with respect to secrecy.

    Best dressed element.

Two things, 1) I hear many people say that they believe the Navy uniforms look the best.  Being in the Navy myself I however think the army tunic and mess dress look pretty sharp, but gracefully accept everyone thinking we look better in the navy :) 2) As far as CADPAT slip-ons on NCD's, it...

Are Submarines a required capability in a modern Navy??

Submarines provide many capabilities that surface ships cannot.  One major one being underwater surveillance and "covert" operations.  As EX-Dragoon pointed out Surface ships cannot sneak up undetected on enemy ships and sink them, or secretly watch foreign ports from a distance.  Yes, there...

    Nuke it!

Good point... Drop a nuke anywhere in NS and that'll happen to most familys... After all droping a nuke in St. Margarets Bay will almost eliminate all the Boutilier's, MacDonald's, Mason's and... (could make quite a long list) on the planet...

The First Sign of Canadian Spring....rrrrrrroll up the rrrrrrrrim (merged topic)

I guess it does make a difference if it's coffee vs. tea... So other than sizes, how much of a factor does location play?

Monthly Pay after deductions - Questions [Merged]

I thought that they recently changed it so you could receive both field pay and sep. pay at the same time, but could be mistaken. As far as I'm from Halifax, so does that mean anytime I'm aboard a ship out of Halifax I don't qualify for both, but if I was aboard a ship out of Esquimalt I...

Monthly Pay after deductions - Questions [Merged]

I'm not sure if there are distance regulations, but I believe as long as you are living away from you spouse you count for it.  (Correct me if I'm wrong.)  On basic, even if you spouse lives in lets say Montreal, you are still living away from them, because you are living in quarters in...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

Sorry for the double post, but I noticed that the poster of the oringinal question has stated that they do have their bluecross card. My fiancee works at a civilian medical clinic (in Halifax) and I know their clinic sees many CF members.  They just have different paperwork to do on "us", all...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

This is definitely the bottom line.  When I was enrolled about 2 years ago, I had broken my wrist prior to receiving my bluecross card.  Not really knowing how the military process worked at the time being I went to me nearest base hospital.  My ULO (I'm in the ROTP civi U program) at the time...
