    bad runner

As some other guys have pointed out here, just keep running.  Don't worry about it, don't stress and fret and keep yourself up all night over it.  When I was on my BMQ and SQ I sucked with the running, wasn't slowest, but wasn't exactly fast either...or in the middle.  More you run though, the...

    Individual Meal Pack (IMP) [Merged]

The Salmon Fillet isn't too bad, except a bad experience I had in Kingston with it was having it come out of my pores (I had this 3 times in a row) and after 2 days in the sweaty heat, I smelled like fish  :P

    Good Stories from summer courses

There was a funny incident on a 3's course this summer where some guy's bed got taken apart and his bedspace was made in the bathroom.  Duty guys found out and apparently thought it was pretty funny also considering other than the fact that other than the fact that it was in the bathroom, the...

Soldier Qualification Course (Questions & Answers)

Depends what you put in it.  The standard loadout is not too bad...best I can compare it to is one of those water dispenser jugs, give or take.  It can get quite heavy though in some conditions like for cold weather exercises and especially if the ruck (particularly the valice's contents) get...

    tactical vest

Interesting thing about the tac vest (and the 82 pattern webbing back then) is that after I've stuffed it with things like cam paint, bug juice, raingear, etc, I've now got no room to actually put a C9 box, frag grenades or smoke grenades (as if I get any of these on a regular basis) into it. ...

Standard Personal Weapon in the CF?

C7A1 is used by everyone to my knowledge, but the C7A2's are being pushed into reg force combat units who don't need a close quarters weapon. Sig Ops supposedly are supposed to get C8's along with armor guys but in the reserves, we likely won't see Sigs with C8's for years to come.

    The New C9a2

If I remember correctly from a website about the miniguns (M-134), the miniguns were tested in Vietnam but were deemed too heavy and unwieldy.  Also the purpose of the minigun is to seriously saturate the air with rounds with an incredibly high firing rate, so you would probably be stumbling...

    coleman stoves and lanterns

A couple months ago during an ex with 74 Comm Group, I was responsible for cooking IMPs for the CP people, namely really high ranking officers and NCMs.  So I grabbed a stove and brought it outside, lit it, and just as I turn around to grab the pot, somehow the flame boils out of the connector...
