I suggest an attitude adjustment may be in order. Referring to the recruiting Sgt. as "slacker-Sgt." is hardly a winning one. What are you going to think when "meany-Sgt." tells you that you've got carbon in your rifle barrel or your boots need to be shinier?
Ah, so that explains why my Reg. force instructor in Wainwright in asked me if I was "some kind of a Bolshevik" when asked where we could cast our ballots in the 1974 Federal election. BTW I would have most likely voted for the "right" of the spectrum.
I never had the pleasure however I do remember the canned IRPs that replaced the RP4s in the first 1/2 of the '70s. They introduced such delicacies as Vienna Sausages to the bill of fare. Haven't been able to even look at a can of it on a supermarket shelf since. Nor Luncheon meat nor tinned...
Kinda makes one yearn for the canned bacon in the old RP-4's, I think in menu 7 if memory serves correct. In any event it was not only the most palatable menu, it was also the menu we seldom got.
Or it could be deliberate. Some American flyers held PoW in North Vietnam and crewmembers of the USS Pueblo being held by the North Koreans deliberately assumed wooden, artificial, and out of character behaviors when "confessing" before the cameras to mollify their captors while conveying the...
125 Canadian soldiers arrive in heaven. God asks them what they want more than anything as he is granting them one last wish as a reward for their selfless sacrifice.
"A world that is safe for all little children" their spokesman says.
So God goes out and smites Michael Jackson.
Funnier than the Montreal bank robber a few years back who dropped his wallet with all his I.D. on the floor while making his getaway a few years back.
Or the other Montreal armed robber who crafted a bullet-proof vest out of flattened beer-cans; it wasn't.
Yup, and I'll bet that if any of us had defaced a police car, or anybody elses car for that matter, we would be charged with vandalism whether the paint was washable or not.

CSIS ignored Khadr's human rights: report
http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/07/15/khadr-csis015.html
Oh my my, it appears that we did the misunderstood young lad an egregious act of irreparable harm and in so doing committed an historic wrong.
Seems to me CSIS has been cleaning up a...
yesterday listening to the radio drive-home show on CBC the host was interviewing someone from CBSA about the Cornwall brouhaha:
Host: "...and will those manning, excuse me , personning , the post be armed?"
"Personning"? a new high low in PC babble.
And he's right. Previous embargoes by the UK, France, and others since 1948 have served only to spawn a home-grown defence industry consisting of IMI, IAI, and Elbit Systems to name a few of the notables. All to say, this sort of thing is more of an industrial stimulus than it is a punitive...
Thanks both. George's suggestion about approaching Veterinary colleges is a good lead. Evidently U of Guelph awards a Royal Canadian Army Veterinary Corps Prize. Presumably they might have some info on the prize's origin other than the financials.
Does anyone have any info/sources on the Canadian Army Veterinary Corps and it's operations, particularly during WW1? Searches here reveal nothing and my attempts to search the Canadian Military History Gateway send me on an endless loop. Thanks !
and who, with complete disregard for their own personal benefit safety and in the face of intense fire from the opposition, did singlehandedly wallow up to the trough, holding it until relieved by friendly forces.
