I avoid buy electrical anything from Amazon but just looking at some of the listings some products look sketchy. I did order something a while back that showed it as UL certified but when I received it, nowhere on the product was the any indication of any certification.
This is Amazon's policy...
They've had a bit of a run of them this summer, as I imagine have other cities. Not only are the batteries unregulated, e-scooters are illegal to operate in Ontario.
Platforms such as Amazon exploit a big hole in the regulatory market. A bricks-and-mortar retailer can't import or sell...
You are correct that a government's power to issues regulations is quite broad but, in relation to the immediate topic of conscripting citizens to fight wildfires, a province would have to request the federal government to invoke its Emergencies Act. I took a quick scan of Ontario's Emergency...
Somebody has upped his meds.
There are 'enabling acts' of Congress authorizing the admission of states (after the original 13). In a normal world, Congress - and probably the states themselves - would put a break on his late night fever dreams, but these aren't normal times.
Interesting article from 2021. I suspect the law has not been tested.

A quick Google search seemed to suggest that only BC still has this provision. I can't imagine why a fire boss...
I saw the TV article. He wanted to do it but the doctors advised against that because of his heart. I suspect at 102 he could have 'screw that' but I imagine the jump company balked. Liability waivers tend not to be worth the paper they're written on.
Apparently it's all a matter of testosterone. He should get together with SecWar.
It sounds like they are trying to recreate Sparta. The US needs more manly men.
It's funny how being in an active war, with invading forces within your borders, focuses the mind and the bureaucracy.
By any of the commonly understood linguistic or international definitions, we aren't in one.
It sometimes sounds like you yearn for a Orwellian, 1984-esque state of constant...
It's not the first case that has been reported regarding fictitious AI-generated citations. He took the generated citations at face value and uncritically.
I think the fact that he worked for Murphy's Law is delicious.
It depends on what you were in. The Corridor fleet is still very much a mixed bag. They had hoped that all of the Renaissance and LRC fleets would have been retired with the delivery of the new Siemens Venture fleet, but reliability and a cat fight with CN over a train length/signal...
One source I found showed its entire long distance fleet to be around 320. That's for every run except their Windsor to Quebec City 'corridor' service. I don't know how much of that is active, in storage, etc. so no clue how many they will need assuming a reasonable number of spares. The...
Thunder Bay has a rail car manufacturing facility. It is now owned by Alstom which bought it and the Quebec pant from Bombardier when they got out of the rail business. I'm not sure but it might have originally been owned by Canadian Car & Foundry. BBD built all the GO bi-level cars plus the...
And that's in a large city. I couldn't find any information on the level of bariatric services from the other 55 land ambulance services in Ontario, but suspect it is very, very low. Several private patient transfer services advertise that they offer bariatric service.
