I'm printing one at 1/144 right now to compare with my RCD.
Also - I think it's actually pretty much 1/72 scale - the dimensions on the scale model as listed don't include the length of the prop, so adding that in makes it really really close to 1/72. (Or at least, close enough that no-one's...
Modules are pretty close in terms of fit - I had to do a bit of sanding to smooth the mating surfaces between the upper and lower hulls though. Like, 10 minutes of work with some 80 grit.
The holes along the length of the mating surface are for magnets that you glue in to hold the upper hull...
I was on my PLQ when the fire happened. One of the other candidates on course was pulled and flown over to meet her husband as he was one of those medevac'd.
As for speed runs on a Frigate, I was on CHA in '00 when we did a speed run from Norfolk to Roosevelt Roads in 2 days. We followed 2x...
PLA is very susceptible to heat - ie leave it in the sun (particularly a black model like this) and things will warm, and warp.
PETG is less temperature sensitive.
I'm doing some experimentation with ASA which is even less sensitive to temperature shifts, but is a bit messy to work with in the...
I realize that we're on our way to new subs and all that with the 212CD having been selected, but we're going to have these boats around for a while longer.
I found a set of STL files from Nautilus Drydocks and decided to print one to see how she looks.
I used Matte Black PLA to give a better...
So it was your fault that the only spare periscope control Circuit Card was put away in High-Bay not packaged, not sealed, sitting loose for approximately 8 years collecting dust before Edmund found it and brought it to me one day?
I first had to identify it, then we had to send it to Babcock...
And then Canada went cheap on the spare parts - and said we didn't want to buy the ones that the Brits offered us....so they sold them on the open market. Which then sold them back to Canada at a considerable mark-up in cost when it turned out we actually needed them.
Well, wow.
Legalities - those are 6x live 0.50 Caliber machine guns, restricted in the USA under the NFA of 1934 for individual purchase or sale.
They'd need to register them, and the purchase would be subject to approval by their local Chief of Police on their Form 4 (I think it is)...
The C-7 did have 3x different stock lengths available. The 'standard' size, the 'short' version and the long version was about a 1" insert plate that went in.
We used them on the shooting teams, as everyone had their own rifles.
I'll dig up some pics of my FN to share later. I used to...
I went through Cornwallis in November 92 -Jan 93, and recall they still had FN C1's in the weapons vault at that time.
We were issued nice minty C7's to clean and never touched the C1s.
My personal C1A1 is a beaut - an ex-OPP rifle that's basically never been fired.
I've since picked up the...
I realize that your list is probably made in order of those of us who guessed, but I've re-ordered it here based on date, ok? My OCD was twitching....

I got a message that the V1 model I presented to the CO in January needs a new helicopter....apparently someone was looking with their hands not their eyes .. er... playing.... er .... accidentally dropped the Cyclone I made her, so she needs a new one.
So I have 4 on the printer - I'll do up...
