    Trump administration 2024-2028

The problem is that if you give people some time and a chance to think about it, they disappear. Long gone and good luck trying to find them. It happens all the time and the public is tired of it so now its wham bam thank you ma'am. Look at all our so called students who come here and never go...

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Im quibbling on the words. We keep talking on here about using reality and facts and not supposition and miss truths. If your an illegal immigrant (was she? Im not sure) and one government is cool with you being there then all is fine. When it changes, be ready for things to change. I lived...

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Yes, but saying the child was deported is 100% untrue. The child could have stayed with the father. I think they should have been given more time too, but that didnt happen. You (not you personally, but people in general) can not be mad that the child was deported because it didnt happen, but it...

I cant see anywhere where it says that the child was DEPORTED, it says the mother decided to take the child with her as she WAS deported. The father was not deported as he is a US citizen.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

They could stop growing the officer corps at a rate higher than ORs. Do the right thing and "fall on your swords" if the government wont "fix" the military.

    Reconstitution

Just before I got out of the Regs in 1996, I was a Wpns Tech who had 6 M-109s and all the small arms etc to take care of. I was alone as my boss got posted out. I still had enough time to get my work done AND do morning PT. Granted, I didnt have much time to spend hours on my phone or doing...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Yes I did asshat. Especially when I gave up a position back in the Reg force as I was on the project to send Memory Boxes to the family's of our fallen soldiers who died in service and was told that if I didn't accept that I gave up my chance. The Army Sgt Major had a nice talk to them, but I...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Had a friend in the Militia who went to the regs as a medic. He was an Inf MCpl. Was also a paramedic with courses up the wazoo. Got treated like crap because he was a Private. Out qualified his Sgts in both military and civilian courses. Got treated like shit by posers who had the rank but no...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

I agree with you. I should have said it better earlier but it's the troops and officers who "have a job where something happens" i.e. blue collar. Not sure how to describe it. But as you said, doctors nurses pilots etc. are where it is a problem. We get trampled by the empire builders.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Been out 6 months, Joined in 83. Worked at the highest levels of the Army. 2 of my PERs were signed by a LGen. I am an educated plug in reality but have lots of conversations with Generals at all levels. Being a bit cryptic as I dont really want to have people know who I am. I can do that in...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Yup. Same problem. slash and burn. Girlfriend works in the public service., her bitterness makes me look sweet. Bureaucracies make problems in how things get completed by red tape etc. It has got so bad that projects can't get completed.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

"Where you see careerism I see retention, which is a massive man power problem." We dont have a retention problem with officers, we have problems keeping troops. You guys are going to have to give up on your careers and empire building and put it on hold until it's cleaned up. Troops are...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Apparently FJAG writes and thinks much better than me (quel Suprise). He is totally right about what needs to be done and I think it has to be drastic or it wont happen, hence my comment about making the CDS a Colonel. My regiment decided that my MCpl in the Battery was needed elsewhere so I...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Yes I am testy, because no one seems to think we should change how things are done. You are all worried about your careers and promotions and not about having a capable fighting force. As Kevin said above, look at the number of GOFOs we have. it's ludicrous. Until we have at least one full...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

I have had Cpls and Mcpls working FOR me when I was a Cpl. I was senior and in the position. I was a Company Quartermaster SERGEANT as a Cpl. I was given the authority by the CSM, No one had a problem. Why can it work for troops and not officers? Lt Chard and Lt Bromhead at Rorkes Drift.
