    The Poppy Selling Superthread- Merged

You do realize Islam is the second most popular religion in the world, right? That's like someone saying "I thought the majority of Christians were on our side?". There are extremists on every side, and they will likely claim they speak for the majority. Sorry for the call-out on political...

BASIC MILITARY OFFICER QUALIFICATION BMOQ Jan 2011

I'm from Nova Scotia. Are many other people just finishing school as well? January seems like an odd time to start BMOQ, but I will have finished my degree requirements in December. Maybe most people attending have had their degree for a while and are switching careers.

    In Flight Security Officer (IFSO)

This is what came to mind for me. And did we "react" to 9-11 with the expectation an attack would actually be prevented, or do these positions simply look good in the eyes of the public?

Number of pilot admissions per year

The interview for pilot is the same as other occupations, of which many questions and answers are already in the recruiting section of the forum. No surprises here: leadership, good grades, extracurriculars, etc. are all important. Know the basics of the job you're applying for.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

My aircrew pass from a previous application was still valid 2 years later for my application this year. Definitely stick with it. As suggested by captloadie, find out where you could improve your application. DonĀ“t worry about applying too many times, my two previous applications fell through...

Conditional DEO - Applying during final year of university

I think there is some confusion. I meant exactly that: the application began in my final year, but by no means have I received (or have I expected to receive) any job offers until my degree is completed.

    Pilot Applicants

The number was in the 60s at the beginning of the fiscal year, I believe. Get in touch with your nearest recruiting centre to find out the exact number of positions remaining.

Conditional DEO - Applying during final year of university

This has been my experience as well. I've completed all aspects of the application, now just waiting for the OK from the registrar's office that I've fulfilled all the requirements for my degree (will finish in December). Then my application can go in front of the selection board. I think you...

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

I can't imagine there's much truth in this. Folks who have their private license get no preferential treatment at ACS, so why in their application? The way I see it, everyone that passes ACS should be square (agree with famus).

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

ROTP and DEO intakes are separate for sure. ROTP candidates would be 4 years behind in the pipeline, since they still need to do their degrees. 63 was much higher than most people expected. Good news for applicants nonetheless.

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

Apparently I spoke too soon... I was in to the recruiting centre yesterday, apparently the number is 63, which is very hopeful although there will likely be a lot of strong applications (two years worth, really). I'm not an expert here, but I would imagine.

"So You Want To Be A Pilot" Merged Thread 2002 - 2018

I talked with a recruiter online today, apparently still no intake numbers available for this year. Hopefully we find out soon, I'd like to get the application process started. Chemistry here. At the recruiting centre, and possibly on this website somewhere, there is a chart that shows the...

Zero Pilots Being Hired in 2009?

I'm also interested if anyone has any insight into this. Hopefully if there are positions in April, they won't fill them all immediately and leave some spots for people who make the next board. Biggs, have you done Aircrew Selection?

Zero Pilots Being Hired in 2009?

I realize it's a pain to answer individual questions, but hopefully this will help others too: since applications aren't being processed now, are those who aren't in front of this board SOL for this year should any spots be available in April?

Zero Pilots Being Hired in 2009?

Do you mean fiscal year 2009 or 2010? Zero pilots hired for 2009 is a fact, 2010 is speculation at this point. I'm surprised they processed your application to be honest. I applied for ROTP last year and completed ACS as well, but my application fell through the cracks (communication breakdown...

    Over-educated for ROTP...Help!

I was in somewhat of a similar situation. After a mix-up with the Recruiting Office caused me to miss the deadline for ROTP in the spring, I discussed my options with a recruiter: finish my degree and apply for DEO, apply for ROTP the next year, or apply for CEOTP. Once the recruiter found out...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

This isn't going to make or break your life. If you get in, you can laugh at yourself for making such a fuss. If you don't, you can work on marks and reapply next year, or for DEO after your degree. There's nothing you can do about it now...what IS in your control are things to make you a...
