General CFRC Questions – Regular Forces

Thanks coffeeaddict, a Well put together answer, 100% get where you are coming from, however I was talking more in terms of policy recruiters have to follow. This seems a bit weird to me is all. Was hoping maybe someone with some first hand recruiting experience could step in and answer. Not...

General CFRC Questions – Regular Forces

Here’s a question for a friend, My buddy, who wishes not to post on here, got a taste of the green weeny even before joining the forces. The guy applied for a fairly competitive trade, but the dude could easily score TC on any course. He calls the CFRC ,as everyone does, for an update on his...

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

Yes, go out and be proactive. Do traffic stops, patrol your areas and such. It’s also a great time to catch up on files you may have ongoing. Or.... go to the gym, drink Tim Hortons and or McDonald’s coffee  :D ..... being proactive keeps the day going by fast so that’s usually the better option.

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

MP usually aren’t as busy as their civilian counterparts. It can definitely depend on where you are posted though. Some detachments will have a steady call volume and some will have no calls for days. MP jurisdiction is similar to policing a small town and therefore the volume won’t be as high...

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

Depends on what det your posted at. Some are more lenient with the OJE and let you loose early or give you some good time off during sets but again, entirely up to the shift IC your given. As for what your shift will look like, you show up for regular shifts consisting of split days and nights...

    Shaving while off duty

I know it won’t answer your question necessarily but I’ve been turned around at the door of the OR for having a leave beard. Don’t make no sense to me really. But now with the new policy I can’t see them being allowed to do that. I could be wrong but that would not make sense at all if the new...

    1. Yes, police foundations or similar schooling is required so it doesn’t necessarily “help” you in the recruiting stage other than you just need it to apply for that specific trade. 2. Once you are promoted after your BMQ you will start to receive Cpl pay and I believe you are back paid for...

    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

TV, PS3, Surround..... like previously stated, just leave it in the junk closet for inspections. Get Wifi hooked up through Rogers when your there too. Just get the whole mod...

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

Pte.tet, I was in the exact same position as you last year. I had the bypass and was lucky enough to jump on the Jan 2018 QL3. They called me Christmas Eve and said I was leaving for Borden on the 8th of Jan. Was all a quick process. From what I gather like Garb stated, the 3s are pretty...

    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

Yah, I don’t really understand either. I know on our 3s they kept shuffling postings around until the last few days. They do keep you in the dark in regards to that a bit. And I feel the dets need more patrolman right now than NIS, I could be wrong (correct me if I am) but manning seems pretty...

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

Yes, the CF will cover the entire cost of you going to Borden for your interview. That includes flight, meals and other travel expenses, such as your very expensive shuttle ride to Borden from YYZ, which you should receive compensation for at a later date. You’ll get a rations card if your...

Wrist Watch Recommendations - Merged Thread

I’ve had the fancy watches with GPS and all the bells and whistles but always end up going back to the ole Timex Ironman as well. 60 bucks and the thing lasts forever. It’s a Great watch and does exactly what it needs to.

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

I agree with Kratz. Don’t go into this already hating your lives... OJE isn’t all that bad, if your tossed on a good shift it’ll basically mean going home early a lot of the time and tons of gym time on shift. You will be placed on OJE nearest the place you came from so most of you will be...

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

Very good advice indeed. All you have said makes a lot more sense. I can just feel their pain was all, I am sure they were looking very forward to starting their 3s this summer. But yes I see what you are talking about. I only spoke out of surprise because They just graduated 39 new MPs in May...

    MP recruiting 2017/18/19

Nooooo!!! That sucks!!! I don’t understand why they would load you on the BMQ-L when it’s not a requirement for the MP QL3 unless they changed it. 95% of the people on my 3s didn’t have there Land yet and will have to go at a later date. I find that totally unfair to you guys really, having to...

    MP Jr Course Fitness Standards

My best advice is worry about the PT in basic not so much the MP QL3. The PT on the QL3 varies a lot with some days be intensive cardio or weight training and others being operational PT dressed in your OPD, gun belts, and vests where you are Jumping walls and doing obstacles. That being said...
