True but if we can provide reliable oil and gas to the world then prices can stabilize.
Oil for weapons program, cheaper oil (embargo oil mixed in), tanker contracts, Bombardier and SNC to name a few reasons.
Embargo oil mixed with legit oil from the ME.
Western Canada does not need any oil from the middle east. Eastern Canada would not need oil from the Middle east if we built another pipeline East. Add two pipelines and we can ship to Europe also.
But I would not like to see what Irving Oil would do if that ever happened. Nor those who are...
I would not shed a tear if Irving oil had to scale back operations and take a big hit in their pocket books over importing oil from over seas. They are one of the major if not major groups stopping Energy East pipelines.
I don't think it would be as hard to staff good paying jobs there. People would move there if they had sustainable jobs.
I think if you build it they will come to that place.
Disagree Rupert has a pretty decent space for rail cars. They just have to add a a couple loading arms. They already have most of the infrastructure in the area. A little something I found out very recently. The buggers have been loading LNG and Oil for the past few years there under the radar.
When did they thumb their nose at being an augmentation force? They seem to of provided many for the various tasks and roles over seas. I don't blame a soldier who takes time off from school or their work to augment the Regular Force on Training and such then get to kick the broom around. Or...
I would look at the Prince Rupert area on the west coast. Or even North Vancouver Island for a Ship Yard to build Subs. lots of deep water areas that could be turned into a ship yard. ICE free year round is a key thing.
I would disagree and so would the people in those Tech industries who were fighting for domestic and international contracts. The companies providing those services have been scooped up or focused on International work because the Canadian Government at various levels could not make a decision...
I would disagree that Carney is building a Tech industry. The Tech industry was already here, been here for years, it was being slowly being beefed up as Trudeau took office. They went and destroyed it by shutting down the industries that were flush with money. The massive uncertainty caused...
We could get a better deal if we had more pipeline capacity. The US has been buying oil/ natural gas cheap from around the worked and selling it at a profit for decades. If you look at the pipeline protest and the major source of funding behind them it makes a person wonder.
Would we not be in a good situation to make Gun Ships? Mount multiple Sky Ranger type systems through out a hull. Have two to three on the stern, two midships and two forward with the main gun? We could produce the entire system domestically here at Home. Then provide a old new school air...
I think people understand that a Modern Warship is a complex platform. What they di not understand is how a complex system that is suppose to have efficiencies requires as much or more crew then a WWII ship of similar class/ size.
Honestly I think your over simplifying modern ship building and...
How the heck are you suppose to get a load or two of fire wood with the thing? Disappointed. (I wonder if you could make a 2x4 high side boards to strengthen it up enough to fit another cord or two into it) 😅
This is why we have the Communications and Electronics Branch. They can set up tower networks for local areas to communicate. Then they can set up larger towers for distance comms. They can use frequency/ cell blockers to keep regular traffic from using the network.
The Business Council of Alberta adds other factors to the possible slow down such as Tariffs. Tariffs have had a large effect across the board. It is easy to blame one in your face factor while ignoring the actual factors.
We have seen across the country the major effects of the tariffs on...
Yet interprovincial migration is still leading the country, major investments are still being had here.
I wonder how the survey was conducted and what the exact demographic was used.
Ideally I would run three crews (2.5 if you really have to) for two ships.
1 crew operating, 1 crew resting/ Training/ sailing and 1 crew doing training/ Refit etc.
That way you can run two ships at sea for short durations like the trips to Rimpac or up and down the coast for shake out...
