CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

I think one on the "watch outs for the Seneca route is that you have to pass or your out. With ROTP if you fail in one of the phases BMOQ, Phase II or Phase III you can recourse into another trade and still be a CF officer. With the CEOTP your gone if you fail and that could be costly. It is a...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

To those who are applying. I wouldn't let a person who saw RMC as a prison (after 3 days) get you down. It is hard, it is meant to be hard same as basic training. I remember years ago when I did basic I felt like releasing. A lot of us did, I can't think of anyone who enjoyed it. However after...

RCAF cites "Labour Shortage" In Hiring Foreign Pilots

Agree with the "high risk" statement. Wonder how it will turn out being that those CEOTP Seneca people are under a lot of pressure at a fairly young age (19 years or so). At least the ROTP people, for the most part have matured a little after 4 years of university and have learned under that...

RCAF cites "Labour Shortage" In Hiring Foreign Pilots

Seems to be more CEOTP candidates coming on stream. If your desire is to be a pilot, you cant beat it. Come out of High School, attend basic training and get commissioned 2LT right away, start PFT and THEN go to Seneca as a commissoned officer. If I am wrong about this path, please correct me...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

As far as getting some flying lessons. Flight training may help you with Aircrew selection but does not guarantee a pass. The only advantage that a commercial pilots license will give you is a bypass from PFT in Portage. Those who are selected and have a commercial license can go directly to BFT...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

In the last few years they are accepting more positions at RMC versus Civi U. I think that getting a Civi U position is unlikely unless you are alreay enrolled there or the program is not available at RMC (nursing for example). You can almost be assured that the position is for RMC.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I have to ask the question: How can an individual be strong in Math but not in Physics? There are very "intertwined" and I would think that Physics would be helpful in becoming a Pilot.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

In the last number of years there has been a recruit camp at the end of August for Civvy-U ROTP cadets. This camp is invaluable as it will expose you briefly to what BMOQ will be like the following year. It is a good thing, as some cadets will figure out very quickly that "this is not for me"...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Having a pilots license will not give you an advantage over other candidates. Air crew selection that all candidates must go through will be a big factor for selection and having previous flight experience may or may not help. Candidates with no experience have passed and trained pilots have...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

It sounds like your strengths are in the Arts, your English mark for example. Why would you want to study engineering? In my experience only those people who are very strong in math and science make it in engineering. I know of high school students with 90's in math that struggle with...

    Fighter Pilot

To be a pilot in the CF is a long, difficult road. Yes you need good marks and also be a well rounded person. There is the application process with appitude tests, interviews etc. Then there is aircrew selection, which is in itself a tough go. Then basic training, university education (RMC or...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Looks like there might be a shortage of pilots now or in the near future for the CF. What other reason could there be to go to a recruiter/headhunter for potential canidates...

    Questions regarding the RMC

First of all, really work on your communication skills. Your post is hard to read with all the grammatical errors etc. I recommend you go to a Recruiting Center and talk to them about the application process and  life in the CF. You do not seem to understand how to appoach this and you need to...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

It appears that this year's group of ROTP accepted applicants were mostly offered RMC (even if they did not list it as a choice). It has been stated that the CF wants to fill their school first as this makes sense from a cost point of view. It is probably not necessary to have a "biology" type...

    few questions about the rmc

It does sound like you are on the right track. You have to remember that even though you think that your marks, athletics, cadets etc. make you an ideal candidate for pilot, that is only the beginning. I think you will find that most of the candidates will have "resumes" similar to yours. How you...

    Going Home

Have a question relating to this. Do "Civvy U" ROTP cadets also receive LTA from their respective universities home once per year? I would think that they would and this would not be only for RMC/CMR cadets, but you never know for sure.

Does anybody know if and when the next ACS will be after the January one?

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

Also heard that intake of pilots will be low or none this year because of backlog of training of existing pilots. Does anyone think that there will a lot less or no ROTP candidates from UWO CAMP? I plan on defintely going to UWO and am working on the marks to get there so maybe I will have to...

    ROTP 2010-2011

Did CFAT and interview yesterday and passed with enough points for officer. Was told not to discuss test or interview with other people. Was also told that intake for pilot last year was "0" as there are too many pilots and they are behind in training. The only way to get pilot is RMC and maybe...
