MP struggle to enforce mental health laws

Garb - I'm not going to continue the belittlement on both of our parts, especially since this thread is moving forward in a positive manner, and even more so since you and I are both random anonymous strangers on the internet and I really don't see the point in wasting the time. However, the...

MP struggle to enforce mental health laws

I never mentioned anything about the RCMP, not sure why you brought that up. I also never asserted myself or my det as being different as the rest of the MP, simply stated to trooper142 that we have not been briefed/emailed/called/whatever on this 'directive' from the PM, and that obviously it...

MP struggle to enforce mental health laws

That certainly sounds like how your CoC and det is operating, as you've described in hysterics numerous times now. However, it's not the same for the entire country, and to keep denying that fact for whatever reason you have is baffling, and spreads false information that doesn't serve a purpose...

MP struggle to enforce mental health laws

First I've heard of this "directive."

MP struggle to enforce mental health laws

Luckily I work in a province where we can enforce most, if not all provincial legislation.  There have been numerous times I have arrested someone for mental health.  Not having this ability and having to rely on another police force is just absurd.  Can't imagine how the other dets are doing it.

MP work on CF Bases and Wings

As was said, it really depends. A 'small' base could be very busy for a week while a 'big' base is very slow that week, and vice versa. Summer time with Cadets and Reservists make most bases much busier; large scale exercises as well. You can get posted anywhere after your QL3, including a...

    Ql3 course

Haha yup, there aren't 2 languages in the military, there's 3: English, French, and acronyms. Lots more changes coming soon as well, but we all know how long changes take in the CAF.

    Ql3 course

You'll get promoted right after BMQ, probably on your grad parade actually. You'll get back pay to make up for the time spent as a Pte. BMQL has nothing to do with getting promoted to Cpl, you'll be a Cpl on BMQL one way or another. Think of it this way: You need BMQ to do QL3, and need QL3 to...

    Ql3 course

BMQL is a month. It's only 21 training days or something. The rest isn't true, loads of guys on my QL3 didn't have their BMQL, and there's some at my Det that still don't, and were only put on it because they were being promoted to MCpl. The branch would rather have MPs out on the road doing...

There'll be down time, it's up to you how you use it. Just be yourself. If you like to workout, then by all means workout!

    Military Police Assessment Centre (MPAC)

No PT, but there is a gym so if you want to workout on your own time of course bring PT clothes. You will be getting driven everywhere you need to go, but bringing outdoor clothes to stay warm is of course common sense. You should get an info package with everything you need to know soon. If...

    MP Ride Along

::) I see you're not interested in getting the thread back on tracks, even after all of us agreed to, and after that very sentence you quoted was addressed. Someone having a hate on for the MPs is nothing new, and you are a good reminder of that. Enjoy your discussion, or trolling, whichever...

    MP Ride Along

He may, but if you want an accurate picture, you'd have to have a first hand opinion such as the one you posted from all the bases/wings across Canada (and operationally) as opposed to one small detachment in Comox, which is a base known for being slower. It is no different than comparing the...

No worries man, I wasn't exactly cool about it all either. Hopefully we can all move on from this and let this thread get back on tracks. Stay safe brother!

    MP Ride Along

Lol, what? You're the one who threw in the smug remark at me, from mine and Brihard's discussion. And nope, a lot of my good friends (and some family) are in the RCMP. Nothing but respect for the guys. The only reason I am bringing up the RCMP is because Brihard is in the RCMP. If he was in the...

Dunno, dealing with people like yourself constantly probably makes us bitter.

    MP Ride Along

(The course is not 6 months anymore, your information is out of date, which further proves my point) And your assumptions of my career/service/that I have "barely" done anything based solely upon my online footprint (which is minuscule, especially on this forum) is where you stepped on toes. How...

Yeah, back on topic. OP, feel free to PM me your location as well (if you wish) and I can help you out as well. It's unfortunate this is your first experience with the MP, but welcome to the internet.
