questions about MMT / HRA Primary Reserve training

Good Day, I'm a former RMS Clerk (split into HRA & FSA) - and I'm now responsible for nominating individuals in my branch on their courses and I'll be honest in that I don't think there is part time training for either occupation. For both occupations you'll need to goto Borden for X number of...

Chance of Success of PRes CT into Int O or Civ DEO into Int O

There are ideal degrees (there is indeed a list) and acceptable degrees, which effective 26 November 2025 the acceptable degree is "any". So technically someone with a BA in Basket Weaving could become a IntO - how competitive your degree is, well that's another story. For Note the current list...

CANFORGEN on Military Service Pay released

I did see a "rumour" mill post that was floating around on other social media that paid reservists a "per day" payout. I can't remember the exact numbers so lets just use $1.00 as the baseline. If it worked out that the annual benefit was $365, for each day of service you got $1.00 as a...

Is there a part time option for SQ (Soldier Qualification) in Ontario?

H Svs Reserves it using the Army Reserve for this qual; and from the meetings I've been part of there is no part-time (yet); it's 1 month in duration (22 training days with weekends). Just for tracking SQ turned into BMQ(L) which has turned into CASFC - CASFC is still in it's infancy stages of...

CANFORGEN on Military Service Pay released

Colour me a bit bitter that the clock fully resets if you spent time on the Supp Res; I have 27 years of service, 24 pensionable at the moment and with this calculation I fall into the 11-15 year period because of 10 months on the Supp Res, and I'm still trying to figure out why a Class A...

Becoming a reservist need advice please

Each element is in charge of its own Recruiting. I can't speak much on the Air Force as I have no experience with the Air Reserves but Navy Reserves runs it's own basic training - pretty sure you're past their deadline for Summer 2026 as I recall that they do 8 weeks of full time Basic; but it's...

    Re-Enrolment and VAC

I hate to pass the buck here, but honestly you'd have to discuss with VAC to determine if a re-enrolment would trigger a re-assessment or not. This isn't something that any Recruiter will be able to answer (unless they have real life experience of having a subject applicant with a VAC decision...

Chance of Success of PRes CT into Int O or Civ DEO into Int O

Sorry I have been busy with work and then got locked out of my account (thanks again Mike for fixing me up!!) I'm always open to DM's about H Svcs, Reserves and Recruiting in in general - anything outside of these areas and I keep my nose out of it :)

Chance of Success of PRes CT into Int O or Civ DEO into Int O

    1. The list of ideal degrees is rather lengthy for IntO, it does have an acceptable of "any degree"; so sure you could apply to IntO without having one of the 19 listed ideal degrees - how competative you are is another question entirely and depends on how many other people are in the pool at...

    Medical appeal

There are also medical staff and those that work in recruiting here as well; whether the question is asked here, FB or the CAF Reddit forum (or other places) - social media is not a place where medical information can be discussed. Ultimately when it comes to Medical related queries (whether...

Prior Service (Reserves) - OFP in 2015 - Chances of redoing BMQ?

Generally BMQ is "good for life" once you reach OFP. Said with the caveat that if you previously did PRes BMQ you're joining the PRes, which you stated you are. Someone who did PRes BMQ, reached OFP, got out and is attempting to join the RegF - may have to redo BMQ pending other qualifications...

    The "Nursing Officer" Merged Thread

I don't want you to feel ignored, please note that I"m currently in Germany at a NATO working group on the Reserves. I am still in the position that holds the funding for CMERT training. I return next week and will reach out with more information at that time.

    HRA - Job Offer?

Selection occurs at a national level, there is administration that has to be done at that level before it's sent to the "regional CFRC", that administration is reviewed and then sent to your local CFRC to reach out to you. Several people are involved in the process from the selection point to...

In addition to above post, if you're going to try to post your comments so much be aware of making an old thread (this thread was 6 months old) a new topic when nothing new was requested.

    Reserves Application Mid 2025

Please note that for the most part the updates on forces.ca is for the Regular Force as the Primary Reserves are responsible for their own recruiting efforts. Your dual citizenship may slow down your security clearance as a background check will need to be done in the country that you have your...

    Re-Enrollment, Regretted quitting BMQ.

Things have changed. CFRC does nothing with PRes files now. It's all on the Unit (or Bde) Recruiter to process the file from start to finish and it's an officer at the unit that will do the final enrolment.

    Re-Enrollment, Regretted quitting BMQ.

I got the information from a CFRG Work Instruction on Waivers - so if it's no longer the CFRG CO as the approving authority for the waiver then the WI's haven't been updated (which is a possibility).

Level iii security clearance with family in Hong Kong

Really this boils down to your personal decision and no one can tell you what you should (or shouldn't) do which is probably why no one has responded. For Level II and Level III clearances they need information on your immediate family, whether you've spent time outside of Canada, etc etc etc...
