    What's this badge?

Would anybody happen to know what the badge is on the general's epaulette (below the maple leaf)?

    Joining with hypoglycemia

I don't want to turn this into a pissing contest, but when I asked, I was hoping someone might know of other people who got in with the condition, or even better, if there are people on this site who have it and got in. My apologies for the wording of the original question.

Haha I guess it doesn't pay to help a friend in this part of the internet.  :P

    Joining with hypoglycemia

A friend of mine is looking at submitting an application for the reserves in the coming year but he has a minor case of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). I was unable to give him a straight answer when he asked whether or not this would affect his chances of getting in, so would anyone on here...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

As far as I know, you can't even submit an application to your recruiting centre until late August(ish). I'm not sure about the online application, but I would assume it's the same.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

If you mean that 3% of all applicants get in, I can assure you that what you have heard is incorrect. I forget the exact numbers, but more than 3% get in. As for your inquiry about the reserves - I wouldn't bother applying now if you're going to apply for ROTP in the fall.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

The only thing I'm going to touch on is the marks. During the fall of grade 12 when you apply, you are required to submit your high school transcripts. At this time, all of your grade 9-11 marks will be on it, but not the grade 12 marks (since your courses are still in progress). If you want...

    I need help!!!!

All you can do at this point in time is wait and write the CFAT. If you pass, that's great. If not, head out West and work in the oil sands. ;D That'll get you out of the house and the pay isn't too bad either.

    Joining Reserves then Regulars

The reserve unit that you join depends on your geographic location. The majority of reserve units are infantry, armoured, and artillery, but there are also a number of roles out there. As for switching from the reserves to the regular force, you would have to ask for a component transfer. There...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

$500 is not your salary. The salary that you will be receiving as a first year Officer Cadet is $1567 a month. (Reference: http://www.cmp-cpm.forces.gc.ca/dgcb-dgras/ps/pay-sol/pr-sol/rfor-ofr-eng.asp) Since you will be attending a civilian university, you will receive said amount and you will...

Women in U.S. infantry (USMC, Rangers, etc. - merged)

Mind if I ask why the failure rate seems so high? Would it be due to poor fitness or more to the lack of one's leadership abilities?

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Bulk up on extra curriculars and get your grades up. That's about the only thing you can do. However, you most likely already knew that but just wanted someone else to tell you that for some reason. You'd have to define what you mean by attention. Everyone who applies and passes the initial...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I would recommend you apply as early as possible during the school year (Sept./Oct.). You have until you begin BMOQ (summer after first year) to decide if the military is right for you. During this time you are able to put in for a voluntary release without worrying about owing time or money...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I do realize that I am posting about a week since the latest, but it's never to late to through in some new stuff. The RMC website that was brought up earlier does say that you don't need to have completed calculus, but it does say that it is recommended. This is for your own benefit. As you...

Officer occupations – Which one should I choose?

I know a handfull of people who have applied in past years and have heard nothing until they finally phoned in (around June/July) to hear the bad news. One guy I know never bothered to follow up and didn't receive a call/email/letter of rejection.

That's most likely the case! If I recall correctly, the recruiting centres won't even accept a hard copy application until that time.
