10,000 year old engineered fish weir founf intact and functional under high arctic ice. Still catching arctic char.
Made from pebbles, antlers, bones and sinew. 27 m long.

Add in the ability of notherners to work those materials into sleds, kayaks and umiaks as well as their cultural affinities to dogs, seals and bears (to the extent that their matabolisms share similar enzyme sysrems) and it speaks to me of a possible north south distribution of capabilities and also a Europe-Amerca communications route that matches the Asia-America route.

Long distance trade didn't have to wait for the wheel and sails. It was possible with people using sleds and umiaks as intermodal transport and dogs as tractors. And they were people who would have been fascinate by the night skies as they lived half the year in the dark. Long distance astral navigation and time.

Both the Americas and Britain have archaeological evidence of north south distribution. Perhaps we are getting it wrong. Perhaps global warming didn't permit southerners to move north. It stranded northerners in the south.
