Two people have been arrested following a protest outside Stornoway, the official residence of Canada's leader of the Opposition.

Why would he comment on the arrest of two Greenpeace idiots and give them exactly the attention they’re after? Are we suddenly expecting political leaders to comment every time someone has a tantrum over some cause and gets scooped by police?

Considering it was Stornoway. Yeah maybe a two liner saying he's appalled etc.
But again, why? That just amplifies the message and validates the tactic.

Yet he makes a statement when one of his own MPs has a criminal-like action or even less, taken against them?

These guys were arrested for a sit in and blocking traffic. Did PP even comment on it?

Seems like there was bi partisan condemnation about that.
Are both situations comparable? And again. Did PP make a statement about that sit in?
Looks like they aren’t giving these guys the attention they are looking for.

I’m not one to think idiots like this deserve attention, however…if people such as the PM are going to comment about things like verbally harassing actions against Members of Parliament (like in the Freeland case, where in fact no one was arrested/charged), why is it considered wrong to question when criminal activities conducted on the premises of the Leader of the Official Opposition lead to arrests and charges, why the PM didn’t take the situation as seriously as when his deputy was yelled at?
Don’t get me wrong, I would have preferred the nothing burger of people jeering Freeland to also have been not commented on, like the Stornaway arrests.
Did they actually get anywhere near PP though and yell obscenities at him? And I haven’t really seen any comments at all from PP.
Sorry but I think you are comparing apples and oranges and creating some false outrage.
But as per all unlawful demonstrations I’m glad they were arrested and removed in a timely fashion.

What are the apples and what are the oranges you see? Illegal/criminal activity on the government property of a senior Member of Parliament isn’t worthy of comment by anyone, even if the occupant wasn’t home? What if they were? What is the threshold for comment by the PM? So mean (but constitutionally legal words) toward a Cabinet Member worthy of comment, but illegal acts on the official residence of a non-Cabinet member not worthy?
I said it at the end of my last post, I don’t think any of the events needed comment by the PM, but that includes all of them…mean words against Freeland, mean words against Singh and illegal actions by attention seekers against Poilievre’s residence.
I’d like to hear your logic’s for why there should be public commentary against the apple of distasteful but NOT illegal words against Freeland and Singh, but nothing said about the ‘orange’ of illegal actions indirectly against Poilievre? Is it because Poilievre wasn’t home? How much triviality to the illegal acts warrants no comments. Where is the tipping point? If Poilievre and out his front door and was also verbally accosted like Freeland and Singh were?

Ah so like when people like PP kept encouraging criminal activity during the convoy? There is a difference between those types of things and individuals accosting political figures going about their business. And in Freeland’s case the PM and many others on all political sides thought they should. It would seem that no one on any side including PP himself seems to want to comment on the offense made to PPs driveway because it is a nothing burger.
Mean comments about PP’s wife included? Sorry but somethings should be called out. Unfortunately not everything will. Did PP comment on the protesters blocking his driveway? Still don’t know because I haven’t heard anything from anyone on any side here. Did the Bloc leader comment?
What exactly did the protesters say? Did they threaten him? Call him a traitor? An asshole? They blocked a road and got arrested for it. Rightfully so and the attention they were seeking didn’t manifest itself.
The logic is that criminal behaviour like mischief doesn’t always equate to hateful conduct and vice versa. Hateful conduct should be called out. Criminal behaviour sure but certainly not when what they are doing is to elicit comment from people like the PM and PP.
Again. This is false outrage trying to equate one thing over another. Stop giving oxygen to the clowns seeking attention.

Neither Trudeau nor Singh directly referenced the rape threat against Poilievre’s wife…they both out out generalized preachy statements, not condemnation against the spouse of a Member of Parliament, so you can’t congratulate them for the firm non-partisan stand they have taken.
I’d be interested to know how that RCMP investigation is going into the threat of rape, you know, the CCC.272
I’m tracking then that a couple of goofs being mischievous is a nothing burger, which I don’t disagree with, so I’ll leave the two Greenpeace idiots to lay in the beds they made, and fall into the depths of invisibility, like other Greenpeace mischievous criminals who have gone before them…
