Today I went to the Recruitment Centre in Toronto to get some information about joining the reserves.  Some of my questions were answered but I have a couple that I forgot to ask.

1) Being in the Army Reserves, can I go over seas?

2) What kind of activities do the Army Reserves do exactly (community wise)?

3) What can I expect for the 10 weekends of training?

4) Is there an aptitude test?

5) After training, what is the amount of times I have to go in a month; and can I go in more if I want to?

Thanks

1) Yes

2) Like community services you mean? Do demo shows, recruiting drives etc.

3) Slow as crap, too fast to hold onto. Academics, PT, Drill, Weapons etc etc.

4) Yes

5) 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month. Could be more depending on unit funds etc. In the summer, usually can for 2-3 months on courses.

Hmm..These questions have triggered some of my own !

Being in the Army Reserves, can I be forced to go over seas?

Also, regarding the summer..What exacly happens when you have steady job??

No, unless some major shyte hits the fan.

Summer is the main time when most reservists do courses. If your civvy employer is gracious enough to give you the time off to do courses, then you're lucky (there's a bunch of threads on this board about this already). If not, you're SOL.
