Hello all, neighborhood friendly Stormtrooper here!  :D

I'm looking to have a few questions answered, and if you took the time to click on my thread I assume you're willing. Thanks!

I'm located in Ottawa and looking to join the Infantry reserves. Apparently there are two close to me and they are the Governor General's Foot Guard and The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa. Can someone name a few pro's and con's of these two to better help me decide? And for the Cameron's the addresses are listed on their website as the Cartier Square Drill Hall and in Lynwood Plaza. Why is this?

I've checked through the Infantry FAQ and there are still a few questions I would like answered.

What do ''parade nights'' consist of? Are they parading out for the public to see? If so, is this mandatory? I'm not sure I will comfortable parading around. After all, I'm joining to become a part-time soldier to better myself, my community, and ultimately my country!

What does an Infantry reservists kit consist of? Are you allowed to bring it home or does it stay at the hall? (I know the rifle stays, if they even keep them there. Forgive my ignorance!  :D )

After you have completed enlistment and all that stuff, how long does it take before you can start BMQ? How long afterwards do you begin SQ and BIQ? After BIQ what sorts of exercises do you go on and how often do these take place?

Thats all I can think of right now. If this is in the wrong section, please let me know so I can fix it!

Thank you all in advice,

Yours truly,
Stormtrooper101

I also forgot to ask after BIQ what sort of courses can you take? I would love to learn some survival skills in various environments.

I'm pretty certain that the use of the Search function would answer most, if not all, of your questions.

Check the top right corner of the page. The word "Search" should point the way. In addition, there's a whole section on recruiting on the first page of the forums.

With all the energy used to type ''use the search function,'' you could have just as easily answered my questions..these ARE forums..

Care to provide me with specific links?

What, I should do your work for you?

Not quite.  Using the search function can lead you to lots of threads, then you have to look for the pertinent info.

What are we...your personal secretary ?

I'm really not sure what is with the douchebaggery of these forums, but alas.

To the person who posted those links, they did not help in the slightest. As previously stated I HAVE looked through them and I STILL have questions which is why I made the thread in the first place. Also, please check your links as some of them are dead.

And with all your carrying on, you could have easily found the information had you used your initiative.

It shall be reflected on your PER:  " Set a low standard for himself and failed to achieve it".

Keep up with that attitude and slagging of the forum members and you'll find yourself in the warning system.

Have you even tried the CF's Recruiting website? And no, I won't provide a link, someone who has such an attitude doesn't get that much from me.

Calling people names is against the Guidelines, by the way.
