I read the "Themacell-anti mosquito device" thread in the gear review forum, and it got me thinking about my own back yard.

The mosquito situation here is getting a little out of hand, and with more rain in the forecast, it can only get worse.  I like spending time in my back yard, and on the nice days we have had, I've been eaten alive in the evening.  I'm thinking about buying one of the more heavy-duty mosquito control gadgets, such as any of the products on this page:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/2/OutdoorLiving/MosquitoPestControl/MosquitoMagnets.jsp

Does anyone have one of these models, and what do you think of it?  (I know the zappers are useless, but they come up in the "Mosquito Magnet" category)

I have the Liberty Mosquito Magnet - 1 acre version - I REALLY notice a difference. Makes the difference between being able to be outside and not for recreation during the summer. My propane on it ran out 3 days ago, and in no time at all, the little bastads are swarming.

I got more propane and attractant. Goodbye Mozzies.

Not cheap to buy or maintain any of these systems, but if you value the time you spend in your yard, it's worth the 25 bucks a month in propane and attractant. It's usually only a few months here....

We use a similar product up at Tent City and they seem to work well....... just got to remember to vacum out the collection tray......
