Appointments to Canadian Forces Grievance Board
NR–06.061 - September 20, 2006
OTTAWA - The Minister of National Defence, the Honourable Gordon O’Connor, today announced the appointment of two new members of the Canadian Forces Grievance Board.
Captain (Navy) (Retired) Charles Frederick Blair, enforcement counsel for the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. Mr. Blair is a former military judge and Deputy Judge Advocate General in the Canadian Forces (CF).
Lieutenant-Colonel (Retired) Michael Auger, a former Artillery Officer with extensive experience in the fields of human resource management and policy.
“The CF Grievance Board members play an important role in ensuring our military personnel is treated fairly,” said Minister O’Connor. “The experience and competence these two new members bring to the team is invaluable and I am pleased to welcome them to the Board.”
The Canadian Forces Grievance Board is an administrative tribunal, independent from the Department of National Defence and the CF. Created on March 1st, 2000, it conducts objective and transparent reviews of grievances with due respect to fairness and equity for CF members.
