Would learning basic Arabic be of any benefit to a potential CSOR CAT 1 operator who plans on joining in  6-7 years?


(Other than the generic benefits of knowing other languages.)

Meh not really, unless you happen to be deployed to a country that speaks Arabic (which Afghanistan is not BTW).

ETA: Trying to predict which country the CF may be deployed in in 6-7 years / which languages would be needed is a total crapshoot. Not that learning a new language is ever a bad thing...

Other than the generic benefits, not a bit.

Mind you, being fluently bilingual in English and French does have its advantages.
