Are Pashto, Dari, and Arabic still target languages? Civilian contractor versus Canadian military

For a young guy in his 20s fluent in Pashto, Dari, and Arabic, what are the best career options in the CAF? This person, not the OP, also has cybersecurity experience. Would it be a Signals Intelligence Specialist? I see that this specialty is eligible for accelerated pay increments. Is there still demand for translators in these languages in the private sector with government of Canada contracts? Maybe that would be a more lucrative option.
