Artillery 100 year curse

Why does the Artillery have a 100 year curse during which they can't wear their colors?

Can you provide evidence that such a "curse" exists?

How did it happen?
What did they do?
What unit?
What war?
What battle?

Don't you think if it was true then someone might have those details?

I went to a drill competition a few months ago, and one of the master corporals in another corps started talking about how artillery had a 100 year curse on them that was almost over, and I overheard.
