I am a single 38 years old and I live in Saskatchewan. I have a lease on a condo I rent and just financed a new vehicle this past September.
I was considering breaking the lease, get rid of everything and just drive the 5 thousand KM to St Jean, but recruiter influenced me not to. He said I want to fly there and then worry about the car once I get my posting.
I am going in for HSM but despite being athletic I am super scared of failing the Force test (should I be practicing? Has everyone else done it?) and being thrown at TRP. All this would increase my time in St Jean considerably, no? Recruiter made me feel more conservative and at this point I am even considering keeping the place here and then asking for a reimbursement (is it a max of 3 months that CAF would help me pay for the rent? Is it a shit ton of paperwork?) while I only worry about my stuff once BMOQ is done with. Also the penalty for breaking the lease would prob be something similar to those 3 months of rent...
Any insight on how this usually goes? I mean, am I getting additional training right after graduation in BMOQ? Which basically means I will be thrown somewhere else for another period of time for that... also, said training takes not months but maybe a year, no?
So much shit to think about. I would be really appreciative of any feedback.
