Boatswain

OK i been to this page here http://www.recruiting.forces.gc.ca/engraph/navy/jobs_e.aspx    and it says demolitions. i was wondering what would a Boatswain doing with that? I'm guessing they would  storage for the divers or something like that.?? :-\ i know its a silly question

Boatswains use demolitions i case they need to sink a ship for example a derelict sailboat that might become a hazard to navigation or they might use it in the event that their own ship needs to be scuttled.

The Bosn's are also taught how to clear obstacles off beaches (logs, rocks, etc) and destroy jetties or bridges if for some reason we are called upon to do that sort of thing.
