Mr. Wainwright from Ian Edwards: [email protected]
I think you made a mistake in identifying your cadet squadron Air Cadets
having just been critical of one of your CIC officers. That‘s getting a
little too close to home, i.e. I can almost identify just who you are
talking about. There is an old expression that still fits, "we don‘t wash
our dirty linen in public."
You also talk in general about the CIC, and that‘s OK for you to do
although this is not a bulletin board for cadets. If one is going to
complain then one should also have solutions in mind that would solve the
problem. Would you care to give me, personal - off line, your suggestions as
to a what standards you would like to see implemented for recruiting of
CIC and then b having implemented them, tell me what your plans would be
to attract sufficient new members to the CIC considering that in terms of
qualtifyable/measurable standards that the higher you raise the bar the
harder it is to "jump in".
My interests in your comments are because I am an active volunteer member of
The Army Cadet League of Canada, Alberta Branch and know that a great many
people across Canada have been wrestling with the problem of recruiting for
the CIC.
