The Co-chairs of the NCR Diversity Committee invite you to visit their display and kiosk in the Food Court of Tower C from Monday April 26, 2010 to Wednesday April 28, 2010. Discover our featured travelling display "Canadian Blacks in the Military", on loan from the Department of National Defence (DND).

Learn about how Blacks have been involved with the building of Canada dating back to pre-confederation;
Find out about the history of Canadian Blacks in the military; and
Learn about the laws that have shaped Blacks' history in Canada and the Canadian military.
The DND display "Canadian Blacks in the Military" is in high demand. The display has travelled across Canada and has been stationed in many federal government departments. It is an educational display that notes not only the involvement of Blacks in the military in Canada, but how Blacks have contributed to and shaped this country by their service, and shows their dedication and commitment to their country.

There's a book on this subject at uGuelph--haven't read it yet.

The Black Battalion, 1916-1920 : Canada’s Best Kept Military Secret

Also in Guelph's library archive there exists a photo of a very young Lincoln Alexander training at one of the Wireless Schools. (Maybe Montreal?)

Great initiative, but I am calling it:

Someone is going to take the side in this thread: "Isn't it reverse-racist (thus racist) to focus on a race nowadays?  We're equal, I got it; can't we all just stop bringing it up?"
