Good morning all,
I have been approached by a student working on a school project who is looking for veterans' perspectives and feedback:
As noted this is a mock business, so Stacey is not actually going to create the business, but would like help shaping the concept to be more realistic. Her outline plan follows:
I think this is a great opportunity to raise awareness in someone who has already shown interest in veterans. Feedback welcome, please post here and I will direct Stacey to the post so they can pick up responses directly.
Many thanks
Mike

My name is Stacey and I am currently working on a project for my class and I was wondering if I sent the project idea to you if there were any soldiers or veterans willing to offer their thoughts on the project. Like if it is a good idea something that would help soldiers and veterans, if there are any ideas I have not thought of (I`m sure there are) lol.
I have included the general idea of my mock business I am curious as to veterans and soldiers thoughts. (if you think members of your web page would not mind offering some) Thank you for taking the time to look at my idea and possibly posting on your web page. The names of my projects may sound a little silly but I could not think of any better ones lol.

Veterans Support Corp Ideas
It would have a board/committee made up of soldiers/veterans local businesspeople with a connection to the armed forces. The soldiers/veterans themselves would work to help other soldiers/veterans. Employing soldiers to help other soldiers so, it would provide employment, services and solutions for clients.
*Like Advanced Education and skills but with soldiers helping soldiers
Programs may include:
Honor Homes:
Affordable housing designed and built by soldiers/veterans to provide accessible housing for injured soldiers and their families.
Camp Charlie:
Have camping facility where soldiers/veterans could go camping, hiking, boating etc.
All accessible and affordable. Ran in September (think Easter Seals camp but for soldiers)
Healthy Heroes:
A program that would provide injured soldiers with affordable services related to recovering from injury like prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, even temporary housing at Honor homes or grants to make their own homes accessible if needed.
Echo Equipment:
Military Equipment designed and made by veterans in Canada for Canadian soldiers.
Safer equipment leading to injuries leaving less strain on the healthcare system and making the equipment in Canada lessens our reliance on other countries for equipment.
When the profits allow start a charity providing things like scholarships for continuing education or funding for accessible sporting events.
I think this is a great opportunity to raise awareness in someone who has already shown interest in veterans. Feedback welcome, please post here and I will direct Stacey to the post so they can pick up responses directly.
Many thanks
Mike
