Hello,

I'm currently waiting for my Medicals to be cleared in Ottawa. I have chosen Armoured Crewman and Combat Engineer as my trades and I am just wondering If I will be able to change it to Military Police or change the trades after enrolment.

I know for Military Police, college diploma in Police Foundations is a must and I am currently in the last semester of Police Foundations which will be done in April. Any advise will be appreciated.

Thank you.

At this point in time, once and "if" your Medical is approved, expect an offer of employment for either of your two choices.  If you try and "add" an occupation now, you will need to be re-interviewed and you can't be interviewed for MP without already possessing the recognized academic credentials required to apply for that occupation.

If you are given and do accept an offer of employment, it is for that occupation only.  Don't expect the CF to entertain a request for an occupational reassignment after completion of BMQ and prior to completing your initial occupation training.  It could very well end up in a release from the CF.

You need to decide NOW and before things become too advanced, as to just what your career goals are at this time.  If you can't see yourself committed to being a Crewman or Combat Enginer for the next 5-6 years, then you might want to reconsider your current application status.

Hi there,

Thank you for that friendly advise. I don't have any ideas of changing my current trades. The thought just crossed my mind and wanted to seek an answer.

Thank you!
