Hey guys. So im currently in the process of getting my sports science diploma, and have a few questions regarding a future in the millitary
A) my family STRONGLY opposes me joining,  is this a common problem many recruits face? and how do you tell them youre considering this lightly?

B) what is life like as a reservist vs full time? are there training differences?

C) I heard certain roles such as Infantry are very competitive and hard to get into.

D) im 20 and just got my N (license,  bew driver, I live in BC)

and im wondering if perhaps if a carreer in injury therapy is possible in the millitary? like a physiotherapist.

To answer your physiotherapy question, head to the following link: http://www.forces.ca/en/job/physiotherapyofficer-44

As for the family thing, what in particular is it that they're opposing? I've been in the process now for nearly a year (wet behind the ears, I know I know), and my mum still has a hard time grasping the fact that I want to put on a CAF uniform. All this despite the fact that my family has a strong military/police background. Explain that one! In any case, talk to them about it, find out what their concerns are, and do your best to redress them.

Regarding reserves vs. full time and the competitiveness of certain trades, your best bet is to head into your local recruiting centre and get it straight from the source. It's not like my great-grandad's era when you walked up to the recruiting office, signed on the line, and then got shipped off to the Somme; there's a little bit more involved these days.
