Just looking for your thoughts on component transfer at 35.....

Wonder if our Reg Brethern would care to comment?

Just thinking that a change from my current employment....

I've got a friend in my section he's just transfering out to gagetown he's in his mid thirties, he didn't really have any problems through basic and into the unit, other then us razzing him and calling em old timer now and again. but it's been known to happen.

Your never to old.

Who cares about the age? If he can do the job then no problem. If he can't do the job, then he should be willing to accept that.

We had a 48yr old Female Sapper in our unit...............oh wait, am I disclosing too much information Michael?

Just had the career managers brief and we were told that OT's were down to 30 for the BN.  Hope things are better on your side.

35? Depends.

When I was going through patricia battle school we had a 33 year old guy giving 'er and he passed but he re-badged to 2RCR and last I heard he was a master corporal or sergeant (Jon Williams).

I would have to say it all depends on how your body is right now. IE. your knees, hips, back ect... because if your going to do at least 10 more years in the Inf.  (Reg) they are going to take a pounding. If your banged up pretty good now, it might not be the wisest career move at this juncture.

Blakey is quite right.
There are few people who can handle the ground and pound (I ain't talking MMA either) on their bodies at age 35.

Most REG F guys your age are usually sergeants or warrant officers.

I wouldn't rely on a LOTP either. It doesn't always happen.

Great, now I feel like a total looooser!  ;D

11 OT's for our BN this year.  That's not many.  It may be easier to go Res and then try to change occupations.
