Good evening. I like to ask you all about IT careers in the Military.

What type of qualifications does one need to get a position in any IT position in Army or rest of Military?

What type of positions are available on this line?

Looking for a new careers?

So looking at Military again due to the good security of the organization.

I like to ask would the military offer training for such a field.

right now been doing some online training last few years. But looking for more

Like to see what the military offers?

Depends upon the OP's definition of IT ... there is an awful lot of IT type stuff embedded in many systems, especially weapon systems, which are not part of the C&E Branch's responsibility. Naval combat systems people are deeply involved in all manner of IT, ditto the Air Force weapons and avionics folks.

Actually, IT is pretty much relegated to only a few trades now.

Air Force = ATIS Tech
Army = ACISS (specifically the IST sub trade)
Navy = Nav Comm (for Windows systems administration) and W Eng Tech (for any other systems, and hardware)

There's also Comm Rsch, but they only manage within their own area of responsibility and don't venture out into the other realms of the IT world.

Again, what one considers "IT" matters.

Ah, yes.  Both of those Sgt AESOps employed as programmer/analysts are statistically significant within the IT world of the CF.  ;)

So are the ACSOs that are posted there.

Do you think I accidentally forgot to mention the CELE, Signals, and NCS Eng classifications in my original response?  If you ask the officer classifications what they do, you'll likely get "I'm in software engineering", or "I'm in network engineering", or "I'm a software analyst".

If you ask one of the NCM trades, you'll likely get "I'm in IT".
