I am trying to identify the people/regiment in the attached photo.
I believe that the photo was taken around 9/6/44 and concerns a Canadian regiment and the RCN LCI(L)250.
I know that it was taken on a pier in the Portsmouth embarkation area by our local newspaper. The reason for my enquiry is that I am a member of a group trying to save that pier from collapse and this story could provide us with some welcome publicity.
My information leads me to believe that the soldiers are members of one of the following:
Queens Regiment of Canada
Highland Light Infantry
Glengarry Highlanders
North Nova Scotia Highlanders
but I don't know whether that is correct.
The censor has obliterated the shoulder badges but I'm fairly sure from a squint at another photo that they are Canadian Engineers.
If you can possibly help with my quest in any way I shall be extremely grateful.I am trying to identify the people/regiment in the attached photo.
The attached photo has been savagely cropped to enable the upload. I shall try to upload better images later.
