Intriguing link here from Discoverthenetworks.com, "A Guide to the Political Left":

http://tinyurl.com/36g274

to a dynamic map showing which groups, funders and individuals are connected to which others in the USA.  Click on any group, and it'll move to the middle of the page, and you'll see a "flower" of who's linked in one way or another (see here for definitions of "linkages")

Enjoy!

This thing is taking forever to load, so I'll ask are there similar social network maps of the Canadian political landscape?

It took me about 2 1/2 minutes to load up on an ADSL feed.

I'd LOVE to see anything similar for Canada, too!

I love six degrees of seperation!

Of course this map is more or less meaningless as it is easy to draw connections between people and groups regardless of the fact that those connections may not exist.

Heres one:
My godfather's niece is Carol Browner (whom i've met on several occasions), who was the director of the EPA during the Clinton Administration, Clinton suceeded Bush who had close ties with Donald Rumsfled who on several occasions during the 80's met with Saddam Hussein.

and I'm five steps away from Saddam Hussein thanks to my godfather and her niece.

It would be interesting to see one done for the right, as chances are it will be very similiar to the leftist one.

I agree with Sheerin, that site is largely meaningless.

For the sake of fun here is another one for corporations.
