I thought I would start this topic because engineering has many odd,weird strange contraptions as the lay man would say or arts of work from a engineers point of view.

So here's a visual one of the Panama Canal,you can watch the ships enter the locks via web cam. and come and go , best time of year is when the Passenger ship's go through .The site has a brief history of the construction of the Canal and Panama also
At the moment they are tryiing to figure out how to enlarge the locks and canal to acomodate the bigger container ships that are afloat now and proposed in the future.
