I suggest that Conscripts Zombies were allocated the serial number prefixes used by the Manning Depots where the Conscripts were processed, and find it difficult to believe that "Z" was allocated to them.
The individual who joined at 13 Manning Depot Wallis House would have been allocated "C", Toronto was "B" and London was "A" and "P" denoted those who enlisted prior to Sept 1939.
The "Z" and "S" prefixes came into use after WWII.
"Z" denoted Commissioned Officers and "S" Other Ranks and was replaced with the SIN system in 1963.
