Funny thing happened in the Sandbox

Happy New Year!!! Thought it might be fun for the New Year to hear some good news/funny stories that have happened in Sandbox.  I have two ,so, I will start.  My husband was on tour last Christmas so I being the loving, devoted wife had taped a whole bunch of his favourite shows(UFC,MXC ,The Dudeson's,Jackass, The Man Show,etc) all the educational stuff if you're an army guy But, it was on VHS, figuring it would be no problem getting a VCR over there.  Put it in his Christmas parcel and all was good.  He got the parcel and then set out to find a VCR.  No luck in all of KAF finding a VCR.  Mike tells me there's a VCR in the basement in a Panasonic box ,so, being a loving, devoted wife I went down stairs, got the box, did all the right stuff, put it in the mail and he received it about 2 weeks later.  He having not watched any "educational" TV for a few months was very excited to receive the VCR.  Until upon further inspection he realised I had sent him our broken cassette player that also happened to be Panasonic!  Serves him right for keeping a broken casstette player

I say, pat yourself on the back for being such a thoughtful and loving wife... 8) not your fault he kept a defective one around or couldn't be descriptive enough..LOL
My wife sent me a wonderful care package only to have it arrive about a week before I came home, no time to enjoy most of the goodies that went to my roommate...but I thanked her for being thoughtful enough to send something.

The other story is on the same tour as my husband, a troop of Engineers from 2 Cer had acquired a donkey to help carry all their crap ( I mean, important gear).  And the donkey had a habit of escaping on a regular basis.  No matter what they tried the donkey would not cooperate. As we all know, some asses are just like that!  But, as luck would have it they had a Sgt that was very good at getting asses to cooperate.  Usually through orders though  So, this ended up being one of the Sgt's jobs, getting the ass to behave.  And as luck would also have it, his troops admired him so much, he is now known affectionately as  "The Ass Whisperer" (the Sgt, not the donkey).  Can't wait to see THAT movie.  Robin
