How many C-295s will eventually be stationed?Good find. You can see why the team kinda wished we had enough aircraft for abduct location in Newfoundland.

we bought 16 so 4 per station seems logical: one on hot standby, one available with notice one in the hangar to be brought up when needed and one in the shop at a guess. Please correct if my logic is faulty. Didn't the original competition require the bidder to assess and respond to Canada's needs. I wonder why they ignored both the north and the east coast with their repliesHow many C-295s will eventually be stationed?

thats what i was thinking too but maybe there was an extra in Comox. The north seems to require a different response but I can see the value in the Gander/far east station just from the incident mapwe bought 16 so 4 per station seems logical: one on hot standby, one available with notice one in the hangar to be brought up when needed and one in the shop at a guess. I think it was 3 each, except Comox, which has the OTU.we bought 16 so 4 per station seems logical: one on hot standby, one available with notice one in the hangar to be brought up when needed and one in the shop at a guess. MRTT fleet growth. ACP-MFS fleet growth. Fighter force fleet growth. More crews for P8 vs CP140. New demands for RPAS.Each flight is 3 a/c. One ready bird. One backup. One in servicing/snags/maintenance.
Comox got two more for the OTU as seakingtacco said.
Ideally, we'd have 5-6 locations and the OTU would be 4 a/c. Something like 19-22 aircraft.
Oh, you watched that documentary, too?As I understand it pilots are born, not trained

Additional C-130Js would have been so much easier….
Yeah- I get it: no sensors. But, still…
Not that we are going back in time anymore, but an all C130J fleet (even if it was too much aircraft for some scenarios) would have been nice. I wonder if we could have hung a sensor pod on a wing pylon?
EO/IR on C-130J fuselage is done and dusted. Just a contractual AWR for CC-130J ISS if it was really wanted.I'm certain LockMart would have found a way to do so (with special pricing just for us).
I admire your optimism that the AERE mafia would not create requirements that LockMart would happily bill lots of extra to meet.EO/IR on C-130J fuselage is done and dusted. Just a contractual AWR for CC-130J ISS if it was really wanted.
Setting myself up to be disappointed…every once in a while, hope springs temporary.I admire your optimism that the AERE mafia would not create requirements that LockMart would happily bill lots of extra to meet.
Then transfer the IP to an outgoing VP who we'd have to buy it from at a considerable markup, as his retirement package.
