So I have a problem, tomorrow I'm supposed to go and do my CFAT/medical/interview. They had told me to bring with me all my original paper work and my birth certificate, photo ID because I live 3 hours away I had to fax it when I first applied. I lost it, I lost it ALL.

2 months ago I think I might have put it somewhere so I wouldn't forget where I put it and now I can't find it. (Oh God, I'm turning into my mother). Or my mother threw it away thinking it was trash (many important papers have met their end this way.)

I can't call the recruiter, they're closed. I don't want to drive three hours and be turned away, my appointment's at 10am, they're open at 8am. So I can't call first and then go if it's all good.

Can I go in and do the appointments and then send them the papers at a later time (if I actually find them)?

What do I do? Have I screwed the proverbial pooch?

Any and all help is appreciated.  ???

Download the forms online and re-fill them tonight.  I imagine you did not lose your Birth certificate and your IDs?

I have Photo ID, at least. But the Birth certificate is lost also.

Will the care that I just re wrote it? I don't remember everything I wrote and how I wrote it. Do they look closely at the papers?

Re-write it to the best of your knowledge, and see what they say.  How the hell do you lose your Birth Certificate?!?

I put it all together so I wouldn't lose it... I think.
It's been 2 months, I can't even remember what I ate for dinner yesterday. fml.

You faxed it. I know only originals are accepted but at least they have a copy of your file + SupersonicMax is right, the only thing you can do is donwload the form, fill it out again to the best of your knowledge and go to your appointement.

Also, try to not worry about it so much :)

Good luck,
Alea

I have no idea what they'll say about the Birth Certificate.  I would re-order one right away, since it may take a while.  I am pretty sure they will not complete the enrolment process without an original birth certificate.

You should be able to go to the provincial building and get a new birth certificate printed up quite easily, and on the spot. Bring your ID, and bring a family member, and make sure they have ID. Your SIN will take a while to receive I believe, but I've never lost taht.

I went through a nightmare where I lost my wallet 2 days before I was supposed to fly, and everything I needed (important docs) to get a new one were at the destination.

The recruiters just need to see the originals (to confirm that your photocopies are legit). Call them before you leave, and explain your situation, and offer up that you will mail them (or deliver them) when you get the new original docs. Tell them you can bring an original ID and an original Birth Certificate, and what stuff you will not be able to bring and will have to mail later. They will have to make a decision from there, and you'll just have to live with it.
