Holocaust survivor gets diploma denied to him during war

A Toronto high school held a graduation ceremony on Friday for an 86-year-old Holocaust survivor who was forced to flee Vienna shortly before receiving his high school diploma.

What a great gesture from the school.  He's a D-Day vet as well.  Pretty spry for an 86 year old!!

I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Maxwell speak at my school in Toronto. He is a very well spoken man and the stories he shared were wonderful (albeit in unfortunate circumstances). I wish him well in his future years.

Though its a shame the diploma had to be from The York School  >
